The parts we play (on a day to day)

A poem

Have you ever tried to fit with various crowds,
But none felt right, as you were never fully in one way?
Maybe you thought that you were wrong,
And envied those who seemed so cosy in one role.
It might sound strange, but if the parts they played,
Were all a bit too set, well, that in turn is not so great.
You might make the mistake of thinking you are one,
But in life, as you’ll discover, you’re playing many parts.
Just take your time and think right now,
If you’re the same in every single act you play.
You might be sweet with some; then scream with one.
A few might make you wonder why you bother.
Is one part loud, and likes to run the show?
Another part is silent, not knowing how to glow?
One you might be quite good at math,
A counter you might think you’re…not.
Creative you might dream to be a rock star,
But other you can’t stand to be on show.
At times, one you might feel so brave and free,
Then running for your life when there’s a bee.
These parts are born from various trials you’ve been in
Throughout your life; and all together make you rare.
There’s not one person fully like you out there,
So, just imagine how unique you truly are.
There’s no divide, there are no friends or foes,
They all have gifts for you if you are open.
Your task, that’s if you choose to accept it,
Is to seek these parts and get to know them.
And once they see each other as a team,
Instead of bickering a lot and scream,
They’ll make your life more like a dream.
